HOW IT STARTED
It all started with a random YouTube video that appeared in my feed called The Bucket Shot by Peter McKinnon. Something about it lit a spark in me.
Not long after, I picked up my mum’s DSLR—a camera my late stepfather had gifted her—and headed down to Eastern Beach. I had no real knowledge of photography, no understanding of camera settings, and no idea what I was doing. I simply sat on the hill and started taking photos.
When I got home, almost every image was badly overexposed and completely blown out. That same day, after learning about Lightroom through Peter’s videos, I downloaded it, imported the photos and started experimenting. I dragged the exposure slider all the way down and suddenly, there it was an image. From that moment, I was hooked.
That photograph is still the very first image on my Instagram,
and I still own the same camera today.
My equipment, experience and knowledge have grown since then, but the fundamentals of how I approach photography have stayed the same. My goal is to be a fly on the wall—to observe rather than interrupt and capture genuine, candid moments as they happen.
I want my photography to document life from every angle:
the good, the bad, the beautiful and the ugly. Real moments. Raw emotion. Honest stories.
